Caring For Port Angeles Smiles!
"Do what you can with what you have with where you are."
- Teddy Roosevelt
Grew up in Kennewick, WA. While earning my undergraduate degree at Eastern Washington University, I met what would become my future wife Lorraine, “Rainy.” Her hometown was Port Angeles, WA, and on many subsequent trips to visit I quickly fell in love with the area.
Both my wife and I have degrees in biology, and we were both employed as environmental scientists after undergraduate school. After graduating from college, our son Michael was born, and then six years later our daughter Genna came along. Both our children have been raised in Port Angeles.
My mentors Steven Matheson and David Roberts both helped steer me toward a dental career. Steven Matheson was my dentist growing up, and he mentored me into the profession. While J. Martin Anderson, the restorative chair at the University of Washington, inspired me to focus on restorative skills and to be relentless in the pursuit of excellence from diagnosis to delivery to follow up.
I have always liked to build, with Lego fascinating me and as a child, I built endlessly with those bricks – dentistry seemed to be a good fit. Didn’t know that part of dentistry would be so rewarding. Doing dentistry everyday, there’s a spectrum of life most people don’t get to see from the very old to very young and everything in between.

I really like caramel cone – if you haven’t had it, you need to try it. It’s ice cream art just like the best parts are mixed together at our office.

Caring For Port Angeles Smiles!
My path to dentistry wasn’t traditional. I started my career working as a CPA, crunching numbers in corporate America. Along the way, I realized my true calling wasn’t in spreadsheets – it was in smiles.
I put balance sheets behind me and went on to earn my dental degree from the University of Texas (UT) Health Science Center at Houston School of Dentistry, and polished things off by completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at the University of Oklahoma.
Now, I’m delighted to call the Olympic Peninsula home and even more thrilled to be caring for the folks who live here. I genuinely love meeting new people, hearing their stories, and making their visits as smooth and comfortable as possible — with a few good laughs if I can help it. When I’m not refining pearly whites, I’m out exploring, trying new things, and finding the best eats and local spots (recommendations are always welcome!).
I truly believe a healthy smile can brighten someone’s day — and I can’t wait to help you shine. Thank you for welcoming me into the Eleven Eleven Dental family. I can’t wait to get to know you and be a part of your dental journey. See you soon!
